Beta Testing

We are excited to announce new versions of our Trams Back Office, ClientBase Windows and ClientBase Online programs are targeted for release each quarter this year.  At this time, we are deep in alpha testing the new enhancements and fixes.  After alpha testing, the new versions are off to beta testing with our agencies.  We would like to expand our beta testing program to refresh our beta tester list and get more involvement.   

Why should our agency beta test?

Our Beta testers have found many benefits to participating in this process.  First, there’s the excitement of being the first to see the new enhancements.  Second, beta testers work directly with our Product Managers  to mold and shape development on the products they use every day.  Testers also receive special enhancement classes and support from our Product Managers and Testing Team.

What is beta testing?

Beta testing is the second phase of software testing, in which a sampling of the intended audience tries the product out.  We have two types of beta testers:  Beta testers who run the new software live in production, and those who run a test system in parallel.

Running the beta software in production means upgrading your current software with the beta software.  This is the most comprehensive, as you will run all your daily processes through the new version of the software. 

Running in parallel means creating a copy of your database where agents and managers log in into a separate copy of your database to test.  In this case, some tasks will need to be performed on both your production database and test database, and the results compared between the two.

For those who have beta tested in the past, please note that the process for testing has become even easier as we now have an “auto-update” push to allow us to quickly respond with fixes for any issues found.  Once you upgrade to the beta version, updates will automatically be pushed to your computer, and you will be prompted upon login that there is a new version ready to install. Installation is also automatic – just a push of a button!

What is expected of beta test participants?

We need our beta testers to use the beta version of the product as much as possible.  We want to make sure that all your agency’s critical daily processes work smoothly.  It is important beta testers to notify us immediately of any undesired changes or issues.  Suggestions for improvement of enhancements and new features are welcome. There is a short beta test window, so quick implementation and feedback is key.  

How do I get started?

Send an email to stating that you are interested, and you will receive an invitation to a private Google group and beta demonstration.  Please accept that invitation right away.  We use this group to send new information about the beta testing and host discussions and share feedback.
