Pow Wow:  TRAMS Back Office

This informal 'networking' forum provides the opportunity for intermediate & advanced users to share their successes and their techniques for maximizing TRAMS Back Office usage.   Struggling with how to perform certain tasks in Back Office or looking for alternatives solutions that may be working for someone else?  Ask your peers.  You will learn from them and they will learn from you.  Instead of standing in a crowded and noisy reception room with a drink in one hand and a snack plate in the other, come sit, relax, and network with your peers and ask how they handle the things that you might be struggling with.  By giving a little you can get back a lot.

How are agencies:
Making up for lost revenue from GDS contract incentive reductions that traded segment revenue for full content?
Are agencies considering switching to a non-traditional GDS solution, like G2 SwitchWorks or Genesis?
Using their Agency's Credit Card for Web Bookings?
Processing Agency Credit Card Service Fees the best way possible?
Reconciling Agent Statements?
Working with Host Agencies or Host Agencies working with IC's?
Cleaning up cancelled and dupe car/hotel bookings?
Working with Front Office to provide cleaner data in Back Office?
Tracking Cash Flow requirements? What's coming in and what's going out?
Tracking Booking or Ticketing agent or both?
What features are being under utilized in TBO and why?

We welcome all users to join in and share their TRAMS Back Office success stories. The above topics are just suggestions to stimulate discussion.  Any other topics that you want to share with attendees are most welcomed.  It's up to the group in attendance what is discussed.  GDS discussions can be addressed in the Pow Wow:  TRAMS Back Office Interface and ClientBase GDS Integration.

ClientBase:  Creating an Agent Sales Strategy

Much focus is spent on marketing and driving leads into the agency. (Which by the way we agree with.) But how well are agents really doing with those leads you get? Do they close 15%? 30%? How about 60% or 80%? Of course simple math tells you that if you double your close ratio you double your business. Each client inquiry is an opportunity for revenue that can be measured, monitored and maximized. In this class we'll discuss the use of Res Cards, Reminders and Reports to help you realize these opportunities. In addition we'll tackle the number one reason why many agents struggle with closing the sale: the lack of a clearly defined sales process. We'll use ClientBase tools to turn the sales process into a systematic approach for your front line agents, by taking you through the following:

Adding Structure to Your Agents’ Pre-Sale Activity
— Document Each Trip Inquiry with a Res Card
— Use and Update Profile Data
— Use Reminders/Track Sales Cycle

Managing Your Trip Inquiries
— Use Res Card Queries and Reports to Count them
— Use Res Card Queries and Reports to Manage and Monitor them

Creating a Sales Formula
— Use of Batched Reminders

Futurama!  Where is This Crazy Industry Going Next? with Nolan Burris
Sponsored by: ATAA

No one knows for sure where the industry will be in the future, but there are some compelling trends that point the way.  In this workshop we will look at some well known, and some surprising examples of how much of the future is here right now.  From Virgin Galactic Space Tours to a lesser publicized but equally amazing orbiting hotel slated to open in late 2010, the future truly is here now.

These and several other futuristic developments will then be overlaid with indisputable shifts in consumer behavior related to travel.  We will explore how these trends directly affect both travel agencies and their supplier partners.  Lastly, we will look at how things like Google, blogs, Wikipedia, Second Life and more are completely changing how people research, buy and experience travel.  More importantly, we will discuss how they can all be used to your advantage.
